I'm pleased to announce my first publication for 2015! "The emperor and the cowboys: The role of government policy and industry in the adoption of domestic solar microgeneration systems" makes policy recommendations based on householders' experiences with domestic solar PV adoption. It finds that householders who do not receive premium subsidies are less satisfied with their systems, but also finds non-subsidy based opportunities for governments to improve perceptions of domestic renewable energy. Opportunities include investing in quality assurance schemes, increasing transparency around auditing schemes and keeping industry accountable through better regulation.
