EXPERIENCE: Getting myself out there!

I'm busy preparing for the upcoming Institute of Australian Geographers and World Renewable Energy Congress conferences in July, but I'm also taking the time to contribute to the energy policy 'discussion' that is happening on the web.  I hear that commenting on intellectual blog posts and hassling likeminded people on Twitter is a good way of getting started...

Online discussion

With that in mind I've started commenting on and contributing to blog discussions on an excellent US website, The Energy Collective.  I contributed to a discussion there on the role of junior policy advisers to try to implement climate change initiatives, a field obviously close to my heart.  You can read my comment, and the main article here.  I even had a complete stranger 'like' my comment!

Twitter

I am also interested in the work of another PhD candidate, Elaine McKewon.  Elaine is looking at 'think tanks' and outlets of the media that are contributing to climate change denial in Australia.  It's hot topic stuff and we've been having a bit of Twitter banter.  You can also follow her on Twitter at @ElaineMcKewon.

Blog

Thanks also to the two people that have commented on my blog.  I really appreciate you taking the time to get to know my research!
